Drop Spinning

A little while ago I bought myself a drop spindle, to try out spinning yarn.  Lately I've tried out a few pieces, some undyed/natural and others various colours --

L to R: hemp (?), flax (?), wool with metallic thread, wool with silk thread, 3 similar shades of wool, alternating yellow and peach wools

Egyptian Wrappings

Ancient Egypt has always been fascinating to me.  These beautiful mummified animals and the intricate linen wrappings are awesome.

Stitching

One little sample I tried recently - I used machine stitching on linen with standard polyester thread, and dissolvable backing to sew over the edge.

Bookmarks





I've begun making some linen bookmarks - these have a wool felt applique stitched to them. I have more ideas for these in the works.
