This weekend (Friday-Sunday) is the Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition, a big art show downtown. I was in the show in 2011, but not this year, so I went with another artist friend of mine who has done it too, to check out the show and visit some people we know. Also ran into a few other friends who were dropping by the show. The weather on Friday was rainy, but yesterday was sunny and hot.

Coming Soon
One of the next projects I'll be working on, and adding to my Etsy shop, is some evening purses. I had a promo postcard with this image at the TOAE show over the weekend and it got lots of comments, so it's given me a push to make some. I'm committed next to making wedding invites for a friend, so these evening purses won't be ready for a few weeks, and the design needs some tweaking so they won't be exactly like this, but they're being planned!

Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition
Well, I took it pretty easy yesterday, since the show on Friday through Sunday was so busy! Thank you to everyone who came to the show, it was great being supported by my friends & family, and meeting so many great people - both visitors and other artists.
Here's some photos from the show, my booth in this post, and some of my favourites to follow!

Nearly!
Busy getting everything prepped for the show starting Friday! Includes a bunch of new butterflies, some brooches of which are now in my Eyespot Designs Etsy shop, as well as heading to the show. I'll post some photos of the show next week. Wish me luck, and if you're in Toronto, drop by the show!

Nearly showtime
Well I'm trying to focus on getting things done for the Toronto Outdoor Art Show, which starts in just over a week, and finding that my hands don't keep up with my head. I'm making a bunch of new embroidered butterflies, and have also been looking at my stash of leftover bits and trying to use some of them up in little projects, so there's a couple of new things coming in that area also. Lastly, I'm going to work on some evening bags/clutches, even if I run out of time before this show.

Sunburned Sunday
Good Sunday to you!
I went to the Toronto Outdoor Art Show on Friday evening, which was really neat. It's quite big and even though I was there over 2 hours I didn't see everything. Some favourites among what I did see include other grads from the program I recently finished: Noelle Hamlyn, Lizz Aston; one of our profs, Arounna Khounnoraj of Bookhou; and other artists: Lorraine Roy, Dog Bite Steel, and Deborah Gibson. These are just a few of the many exhibitors.

Friday again! New WIPs...
In case you wondered, WIP = works in progress.
Sorry for the icky pictures, but I just took them indoors because it's pouring rain outside! Which is the good news, perhaps, as it might help break the heat and humidity we've had. We aren't used to it feeling like 40 + Celcius.
The first two are in the butterfly series, the last one, as is probably obvious, is not. They're each almost done but still not quite right.
Today the Toronto Outdoor Art Show starts, and runs through Sunday. I'm not in it, but I know a handful of people who are so I'm hoping to go check it out.
